The women Cell- “AADYA” “Be empowered, a slogan for each woman”

VISION

The college visualizes a future where women empowerment is no more a goal but a reality. Assurance of justice and equity in society for women by extending academic, financial, emotional and moral support is the focal point of the vision of the institution.

MISSION

V. V. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY promises its stakeholders an opportunity to advance physically, mentally and spiritually. Women from all sections of society enter the portals of this institution which provides them with the opportunity to flourish and to attain their full potential. The mission of the institute is to direct the mind of the young generation so as to engage in the task of nation building. Its aim is to provide the nation with an honest, hardworking and dedicated workforce. It seeks to bring about a change in society’s attitude towards women by inculcating confidence in them regarding their own potential as an economically independent workforce and equal partner in social transformation. To this end, the College’s mission statement is set out in form of definite tasks which defines the College’s distinctive characteristics in terms of addressing the students it seeks to serve, the institution’s traditions and value orientations, the needs of society and its course for the future. The mission is dynamic and its tasks are defined and periodically reviewed to meet the challenges and opportunities of changing times.

OBJECTIVES

The Objectives of the College are stated in the tasks of the Mission. The College seeks to inculcate through its programs:

  • Belief in self as a woman by empowering them.
  • To provide for academic excellence.
  • To inculcate the value of discipline in the students.
  • To provide an excellent infrastructure.
  • To ensure that girls have the social and technical skills needed for living and working in the modern world and are flexible in their approach to careers.
  • Holistic development through promotion of participation in curricular and co-curricular activities beyond their curriculum.
  • To sensitize values of citizenship through civic sense, public conduct, leadership, rights and responsibilities.
  • To stimulate respect and sensitivity for the others through exposure to cultural diversity, languages and human rights.

2021-2022

     National Seminar on “ WOMEN’S HELTH-A HOLISTIC APPROACH”. An awarness class and discussion by Dr. ARCHANA S KUMAR. MBBS MD (Preventive and Social Medical Founder at Sri Krishna Medical Centre, Udumalpet and Chief Medical Officer-Premier spinning Mills) Organised “AADYA” The Womencell.

2020-2021

    Organised a workshop on “Yoga for daily life” on 22nd September by Smt.Deepthi Biju, Yoga instructor, AmrithaVidyalaya Palakkad

     Conducted a national webinar on October 10th by Smt. PREETHA BALAKRISHNAN , Director of Align your Brain training and consulting LLP, the topic was about “ Three secrets of brain to tap your inner potential.”

     Celebrated International Women’s day on March 8 by organizing a webinar on “Women Empowerment” by Ms. CIJA GEORGE, Physcho- Social Counsellor , ICDS, Malampuzha

             A seminar and a poster making was conducted in relation with “Women Empowerment” on 9th March 2020

.          

2019-2020

     As a part of  ”Poshan Abiyan Maa” September 17th- 2019 awareness class was given for parents on Nutrition..Skinnutrition ,A Glance on Antioxidants by Dr.Sridevi.

     On 9th March regarding “Women’s day” celebrations Praseeja.K from Pududssery grama panchayath conducted a seminar about the topic “Laws for women”

2018-2019

     As a part of women's day celebration an awareness class was conducted for the students on POCSO ACT 2012.. JAGRATHA SAMITHY and HUMAN RIGHTS . Counsellor of ICDS Malampuzha started the session with a group activity.And later discussed about POCSO act...it's purpose and goal.Counsellor concluded the session discussing about the Human Rights and Responsibilities on September 21st 2018 

     A one day seminar on pre- marital issue was organized for students by the women cell. An open discussion after the session was also organized which helped the students to voice their queries and debate about the growing intolerance in marriage and how to tackle it on October 5th 2018

     Womens day was celebrated with the arrangements of  Poster making and Slogans on 8th March 3rd 2019

2017-2018

     As a part of Breast Feeding Week awareness was given to students about exclusive breast feeding and importance of cholustrum. Students participated in a Block Level..Poster making and Essay competition conducted by ICDS Malampuzha.Counsellor Cija George Directed the Programme on June 8th 2017

The women cell conducted karate classes for students November 3 2017

The Womens day was celebrated with a rally on 8th March 2018

2016-2017

    Awareness class was given to students on Effective Communication and Interpersonal Relationship. Mr.Harikumar ,Trainer of  LIFE SKILL ACADEMY handled the session on August 6th 2016

The women cell conducted yoga classes for students and teachers on November 15th 2016

Womens day was celebrated with the arrangements of Poster making and Slogans on 8th March 2017.

2015-2016

     2 days workshop was conducted for the final year students by Mr.Rajesh Ponmala of  Mukthi bhavan counseling centre.Topics covered were Male female psychology Financial Management.. Problem Solving Techniques.,Sex Education on August 17th 2015

Womens day was celebrated with the arrangements of Poster making and Slogans on 8th March 2016

2014-2015

     Awareness class was given to Parents on Effective Parenting and Handling Family Problems by counsellor of ICDS Malampuzha on August 5th 2014.

An interdepartmental craft competition was conducted by women cell on November 3rd 2014

Womens day was celebrated with the arrangements of Poster making and Slogans on 8th March 2015

2022-2023

  • Yoga class conducted by Sri. Velmurugan, Yoga Instructor.
  • National Seminar on “Women Health-A Holistic Approach” by Dr. Archana Kumar.
  • Workshop on “Green Farming” in co-ordination with IRTC Mundoor.
  • Debate on “Unite Activism To End Violence” by Sri. Cija George, Councellor, ICDS Malampuzha.
