National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme is to arouse the social conscience of the students and to provide them an opportunity to work with the people in the villages and slums. The interaction through NSS will expose them to the realities of life and bring about a change in their social perception.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • To understand the community in which they work
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
  • Practice national integration and social harmony

The NSS unit of our college is engaged in productive social work to promote to uplift the weaker section. Our college have one NSS unit (unit 241), enrolling 100 volunteers every year. A lot of student welfare, community welfare programmes and awareness programmes are organised in the college.

Activities

2018-2019

• Our NSS volunteers have done a needy help for the people of flood affected area. We have collected and handed over essential items of around Rs.75, 000/- to the NSS District co-ordinate Committee.
• Our volunteers combined with Nehru Yuva Kendra organized a work camp of “a cleanliness and preservation of water resources” at Fort Maidan, Palakkad.
• In connection with “PoshanAbhiyan” our unit conducted Poster making and Group discussion.
• In connection with NSS day celebration on 24/9/2019, wevisited Buds school, Pudussery,distributed sweets to the students and conducted cultural programmes
• Rally conducted by NSS Volunteers in connection with ‘FIT INDIA’
• National Unity day celebrated by conducting Essay writing drawing competition.
