" PRITHVI " The Nature Club
The nature club“ PRITHVI” was set up to create awareness among the students for the importance of protecting our nature and environment. The club enlists the students’ participation in maintaining a clean, healthy, and green campus by planting more trees, holding seminars, on topics related to current environmental problems and to conduct study tours to eco-tourism centers.
The club about 75 student members strive to develop love of nature and adventure, and to instill awareness of the environment of the college to promote environment friendly lifestyles.

OBJECTIVES
- Motivating students to create value of environment.
- To make them aware about the grave situation of nature and means for its conservation.
- Motivate the students to keep their surrounding green and clean.
- Observing environmentally important days like World Ozone Day, World Forest Day, World Environment Day, World Earth Day etc. by displaying chart, banners, notices and posters.
- Motivate student to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and waste disposal.
- Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags.
- Organize pre -plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as quiz, essays, and poster competitions regarding various environmental issues.
- Organize nature trail in hill stations agricultural farms, parks, forest, wild life sanctuaries etc.
- To initiate conservation actions and conservation education activities.
- Provide youth opportunities to learn in and about the natural world around them.
- To initiate the distribution of seeds and plants to the trials nearest our college area.

Conducted a seminar on the topic AGRICULTURE- PRESENT AND FUTURE in connection with CHINGAM 1 KARSHAKADINAM(17/8/2022) by Mr.Ashwin .T Agricultural officer, Mobile soil testing lab Pattambi.
Distributed seeds to the Kottamutti tribal community for the promotion of kitchen garden in connection with KARSHAKADINAM,seeds sponsored by Indian overseas bank Palakkad(18/8/2022)
Conducted these activities in connection with “ONAM CELEBRATION” Karshakare aadharikkal, Keraleeya kalaroopngalude nrithyavishkaaram, Nadanpattu, Thiruvathirakali
PRITHVI celebrated WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on 5.6.2017 by conducting a seminar on the topic based on environment day. Seminar taken by Kaladharan Unni (Retd.Professor Govt.college Chittur-HOD Geography dept.) Principal of our college.Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. As a result, individuals develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible decisions.
Distributed sanitizer, mask, medicines and cleaning solutions etc to the nearby area of our college and also given awareness to rain fall diseases on 12/07/2017.There are 20 numbers of students participated in this activity, very poor and illiterate people residing the kottamutty area, we went there and distributed medicinal items and also given awareness class about monsoon diseases.
Prithvi the nature club organised a field trip to kottamutty hills ,around 2 km from our college on 10/08/2017 at 11 pm. 50 numbers of students participated in this trip , it was a refreshment trip for students and teachers we enjoyed the beauty of western ghatts, it was an awesome and pleasure trip for us.
PRITHVI The nature club made vegetable garden on back side of the campus and allotted the club members for watering and maintaining the vegetable garden. MIDHUN M III BSC ELECTRONICS has taken the in charge of the vegetable garden and also the office attender Mr. Mani taken the staff in charge of the vegetable garden. After three months we harvested the vegetables and distributed to staffs and students of our colleges .the organic vegetable farming mission is very success. This mission started in connection with Gandhi jayanthy.
Prithvi nature club placed forest fire preventive placards at nearby area of our college and also provided water pots for birds in our college campus .20 numbers of students participated in this activity, students collected placards and small pots from all classes and placed it.
